Christmas Day is Here!

K: Sabi come quick . . . Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy . . . Sandy Paws was here . . . and there are pressies for us! I can hardly stand it . . . go tell Mommakitty and Daddykitty to get up!

S: Keep your furry little pants on dude - we're all sleepin' in . . . me included. Besides, Mommakitty hasn't even begun cooking breakfast! While you're waiting for them to get up, why don't you tell everyone about our Chrismas day breakfast tradition!

K: OK . . . well it goes like this (every year):

Cheese Souffle...mmmm, cheesy

Buttermilk Bisquits...fluffy

Canadian Bacon (it's like HAM)

Fruit Salad (we like the nanners)

Orange Juice Mimosa's

(we can't drink - under age!)

K: THEN, we get to open pressies!

S: Wake me when we're ready . . . Zzzzzzzz . . .

K: We'll be back later today to show how our day went! BTW - here's the souffle recipe:

8 slices of white bread (crusts removed)
1 lb. cheddar cheese (grated)
4 eggs (beaten)
2 cups milk
1 tsp salt
1 tsp dry mustard

* Make one day in advance.
Cube the bread and add remaining ingredients into a deep, 2 quart or 2.5 liter, (buttered) souffle or casserole dish. Gently fold (mix) ingredients. Let stand overnight in the refrigerator. Bake at 300 degree oven for 1 1/4 hrs. Serves aprox. 4-6. Enjoy!
* Save bread crusts to make croutons or feed to the neighborhood birdies.

Merry Christmas, and congratulations to your Mommakitty on being named a finalist in Skeezix's Food Lady of the Year Contest. You had a great entry.

That souffle looks yummy and Mom says that it doesn't look too hard to make. Maybe she'll try it! She assumes that the cheese needs to be grated. We love it when she grates cheese. We help her clean up because some always seems to fall on the floor or in our mouths.

That's a nice tradition. My dad made waffles an fruit toppin. An we had a big ham on Caturday night, but Dad ruined it by puttin the leftovers into pee soup. He let me lick some, an I fink the ham was better wifout pee. Beans eat weird fings.
Kimo, you look as acited as I was! Mom sed I haded in-som-nea just cuz I was playin hard near midnite.
