Memorial Monday
Kimo: While enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, Grampakitty proudly served his country by teaching English as a second language to Army personnel in Puerto Rico.
Sabi: In the early 60's he worked for the U.S. Department of Defense as an educational consultant for all D.O.D. dependents schools in Japan and Korea.
Kimo: While Gramakitty did not serve in the armed forces, she did follow Grampakitty to his post during the Korean War, and she also taught English as a second language to medical students in Puerto Rico.
Mommakitty: Grampakitty (my dad) did not lose his life during the war, but he certainly left us too soon, and so did Gramakitty (my mom).

Your grandma and grandpa both look very nice. That was very nice of them to teach and serve in the military that way.
Lovely tribute to your Grandma and Grandpa kitty.
In Canada, we remember all those who gave their lives in service to their country on Remembrance Day, November 11th. We also honour all those who currently serve and who have served in the past on that day.
it seems like most everyone leaves too soon.
i was born about a month after my grandma crossed the bridge, and then my grandpa crossed the bridge several years later. i know that their crossing changed my mama's life tremendously!
love to you,
