Gung Hay Fat Choy!
Happy Chinese New Year!

Gung Hay Fat Choy actually means "Best wishes and congratulations. Have a prosperous and good year."

Every year there is a big festival and parade in San Francisco. They gots dragons, and firecrackers, and loud drums. It is not a good place fer a cat to be hangin' out, if ya know whut I mean.

I wuz borned in da year of da monkey, according to da Chinese calendar, but I am NOT a monkey. This is whut I'm supposed to embody:

Those born in the Year of the Monkey are the erratic geniuses of the cycle. Clever, skillful, and flexible, they are remarkably inventive and original and can solve the most difficult problems with ease. There are few fields in which Monkeys wouldn't be successful but they have a disconcerting habit of being too agreeable. They want to do things now, and if they cannot get started immediately, they become discouraged and sometimes leave their projects. Although good at making decisions, they tend to look down on others. Having common sense, they have a deep desire for knowledge and have excellent memories. They are strong willed but their anger cools quickly. They are most compatible with the Dragon and Rat.

Mommakitty wuz borned in da year of da OX, and THIS is da year of da Ox! That means she will have a good year!

Sabi, of course, is also a monkey (that fits HIM) - we were borned on da same day. Daddykitty and Kiera wuz both borned in da year of da pig (they are both kinda messy - hehehe).

You can read more about da Chinese New Year HERE and HERE.

Gung Hay Fat Choy to all of you too.Our mum was born in the year of the rabbit, but when she was younger, she was told it was the year of the cat. She says she will have to ask Michico and Adan if it ever was the year of the cat as well as the rabbit.

I was born in the year of the DOG! Can you believe it?! The torties are monkeys, though.

I'm off to wish Keira all the best!
