Finally Home!

Hello friends - I'm finally home! If you did not know I was gone, then you can catch up on da details in da earlier posts. I came home yesterday after 4:00pm.

In a nutshell, I has been at da V-E-T since Saturday afternoon. And not by MY choice, may I add. But, I'm glad Mommakitty took me anyways cuz I could have gotten even sicker and possibly DIED. OK, maybe I'm being a little dramatic, but kittehs can die of Urinary Blockage if it's not caught in time.

Luckily I am a typical vocal Meezer and I tolded Mommakitty on Friday and Saturday that I wuz not feelin' good - I wuz in pain and it hurt to pee. So, even though no kitteh wants to go to da V-E-T by choice . . . as soon as momma put da PTU out I jumped right in. Da doctor tolded momma that I was furry lucky to catch this condition early.

By da way, here is picture of da blurp givin' me a luv pat when I got home. She wuz furry gentle and happy to see me. Sabi, on da other hand, has been ignorin' me ever since I got home. Anyhoo, . . .

While I wuz at da V-E-T they shave my man place. Mommakitty wanted to show you a photo, but I thought it wuz not appropriate to be viewed by gurlz or young kittehs. I wuz furry embarrassed to have a shaved hoo-haa place while at da V-E-T cuz there were gurlz lookin' at me and laffin. That made me furry hissy and I wuz mad at the vet techs the whole time I wuz there.

Now if shavin' my stuff wuzzent bad enough, they stuck a tube called a catheter in my winky (you guyz know whut I'm talkin' about) and pushed fluid into me. At least they had da courtesy to dope me up furst - but the tube did not feel good, so I managed to pull it out on Sunday. All da while I also had to wear one of them stoopid cone head thingies. Geez - all my dignity wuz stripped - I didn't even git a hospital gown!

Now that I am home, I gotta take some medicine fer a couple of weeks AND eat special foods. I will have to eat da special food fer da rest of my life. AND fer da next couple of weeks Mommakitty will be following me around makin' sure I drink enough and pee enough. Can a dood get any privacy? Sheesh!

Oh well - I am happy to be alive and be home. AND I am furry thankful to have such wunnerful friends in da Cat Blogosphere and on da internets. Fanks fer all yer support and purrrayers. Please keep me in yer purrayers fer a few more weeks, cuz I don't wanna have to go back to da V-E-T and git another tube stuck you-know-where.

That's it fer now. If you have specific questions, write them in da comments section and I will try my best to answer them.

Now, you'll have to excuse me while I go warsh da V-E-T stink off me and git some rest.

Dood! I'm glad you're home and aside from the HORRORS of being shaved and having girls laugh at your winky, that you're mostly ok. Sucks about the special food...that stuff usually tastes like doody. At least what I imagine doody tastes like. I haven't actually sampled it to be sure...

Oh man, you're gonna ITCH as yer furs grow back in!

I am very glad that you are home again, Kimo. Aside from the embarrassment, you seem to have done very well. I hope your special food tastes better than Max thinks. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

So glad to see you're home, Kimo.

I can sympathize with all the indignities that you went through as I had all that happen to me last year. At first I thought I looked kinda sexy with my man bits shaved, but it itched like crazy when it started growing back. Which in itself was embarrassing, as I had to keep licking those bits so they felt better, and Mummy thought I was being rude!

We are glad you are home and feeling better Kimo. The indignity of having your manbits shaved!
I, Eric, have special food for my sensitive tummy and it tastes okay so we hope your special food will taste okay too.
Hope Sabi soon starts talking to you again, but at least Da Blurp loves you with or without vet stink.

We are thankful that you got to da vet when you did. We don't have direct experience with this condition, but recently know of a cat who did and is just coming off antibiotics now. He had a tuff time and it cost lots of green papers. He is on a special wet food diet now. His case is unusual because he is a senior kitty and this usually happens when mancats are younger.

Sorry you had this embarrassing, not to mention painful, experience Kimo but so glad you are better now.

We are VERY happy to know that you're back home and settling back in.

Sorry to tell you, though, that the special foods and some lack of privacy (Mommakitty making sure you pee enough) won't end. But Cabbie has lived with this since Jan, 2004, and he's a very happy and healthy kitteh at the age of 12. You will get used to it and pay it no mind, after a while!

Hey Kimo,
I had this happen, too. It was a terrible experience. I have special foods, too, but my investor chose raw food and adding water to my meals over having me eat Science Diet. So far, I've been "going" just fine.
And good luck getting any privacy. Ever since my incident, the woman is always checking on me.

(My word verification: Lates! So, Lates! See ya later, buddy!)

Connie - Tails from the Foster Kittens said...

Hi there. Glad to hear you got through your V-E-T ordeal ok and that you are back home. I had two of my cats block and I did a lot of reading on urinary issues. While they don't know 100% what causes it, they do know that tehre is an issue with urinary PH. eating plant material does raise urinary ph. the special food you are feeding is high in plant material, so they counter act that by adding an acidifier.

You can do better by your kitties if you feed them a low carb grain free diet that is high in moisture. there are a lot of OTC canned foods that fit the bill, there is also raw, that does wonders by cats. To read more about a species appropriate diet, check out http://www.catinfo.org a website run by a vet who actually studies feline nutrition.

This post brought to you despite Muffin, who did her best to disrupt my typing. typos are all her fault
