Kimo: I am having an identity crisis! My friend Jeter Harris (a tabby, so he thinks) has brought to my attention that he and I have some similarities which may question either my Meezerness or his Tabbiness! Am I a Meezabby, or is Jeter a Tabeezer?
Mommakitty: Oh, don't get yer panties in a bunch!
Kimo: I do not know what that means momma (panties are fer gurlz), but in the words of my buddy Jeter, and am not "laffin & laffin!"
Mommakitty: Well, we know from your adoption papers that your birth-momma was a real Meezer, but we don't know about your birth-daddy. What makes you think you are not full Meezer?
Kimo: Well, . . . look at these photos of our ears. Jeter and I both have ear tufts!

Sabi's EarsMommakitty: No, . . . I don't think you are related to Sabi, except that he is your brother through adoption. Just like my brother and I. We don't look anything alike, but we're brother and sister through adoption.
Kimo: Hmmm . . . yer right. But look at Latte's ears - he does NOT have ear tufts and he IS a Meezer! Oh, I am SO confused!

Skeezix's EarsKimo: I will have to continue my research. I have asked Jeter Harris to submit to me some more information to see if there are any other similarities. Not that it wouldn't be cool to be related to Jeter, but I . . . wanna be a Meezer!

Oh dear, now I'm a little worried! Mom says the lady she got me from said both my furmom and furdad were meezers (she saw my furmom), but I don't have any papers.

Kimo, I don't think you have to worry. If your mom was a Meezer that makes you at least a half-Meezer, so if you want to be a Meezer, you are!
I have a little bit of hair on my ears, and it makes it look like I have small ear tufts, but I'm a purebred Sphynx, with papers. So I don't think ear tufts are necessarily indicative of breed, except in cases where a breed standard penalizes them.
Oh, I forgot to mention. Yes, "Schlaf gut!" is German for "Sleep well."

Kimo you have furry nice ears! If it turns out that your Daddycat was not a full meezer it just means you have lots of diversity in your background. Just shows that we is all related to one another! So we are all family!!

Don't worry Kimo, I have inspected my own ears at closer range and I do in fact have tiny little ear tufts. AND Kaze (the frootbat) also has ear tufts. So I don't know, maybe we all kind of have ear tufts, some are just bigger than others? Oh, and KoKo does have little ear tufts too and he has meezer papers (I don't).

I don't think you have to worry, Kimo. There was a cute little cat who lived next door to me who was a mixture of Meezer and Tabby. She had a striped tail. I think ear tufts show up on all kinds of cats, so it doesn't necessarily mean that you are part tabby.
I'm not a meezer and I have ear tufts. I think maybe all cats except some kinds of frootbats got ear tufts. Yeah. That's it.

We're all related, Kimo, being descended from the wild cats of Africa, so you and JH are related way back. Ear tufts, Meezer or not, the important thing is that you're a handsome guy and Sabi, your Mom & Dad and all of us love you. Don't feel bad...none of us know who our catfathers were either!
