Mommakitty and Daddykitty adopted us from the Petaluma Animal Shelter in September 2004 (born in July). They play with us when we need the exercise, set limits when we need to understand the rules, and even nap with us. They provide a safe home for us with plenty of room to play, feed us healthy food, and encourage us to learn new things. They're the best!

Yes, it is very sad and upsetting. :( Our thoughts and prayers are with all the victims, the students, their families and their friends. It scarily reminded my mom of the Montreal Massacre, where a very sick individual killed 11 women at an engineering school in Montreal because he hadn't been accepted into an engineering program, and blamed it on women studying engineering. My mom studied biological engineering as an undergrad, and they always had a day of remembrance every year for the victims of the shooting.

We agree with you both K & S. My daughter asked why someone would do something like that, it is a very hard question to answer.
We were very saddened by the news! That is our breeder's home town and her sister goes to school there! This is aweful!

Yup, doo-doo heads is the perfekt way to describe them. Mom wuz saying purrayers last nite, even fur da police type beans who hafta deel wif dis. It makes her sooo sad dat dis kinda stuff happens. We amember dat, Dragonheart, dad sed "oh, yeah, it's because women were studying engineering. Not because you were a crazed lunatic".

Yes, this has been all over the Spanish and local (Canary Islands) news too, underlining that it was the worst such attack in the US, listing all the previous ones, etc ... Quite comprehensive coverage.
This trajic event just calls me to wonder (yet again), what humanity is doing wrong to one another so that people can possibly develop whatever twisted views they have that makes them act in this manner.
Perhaps if we paid more attention to feline wisdom?
It is so sad. It is hard to believe something like that could happen. We feel bad for all the families affected including the shooter's. Imagine what his parent's must be going through right now? Indescribable, the pain that they must be feeling.

It is very sad what happened at VT. Meowm and I are very saddened by all of these shootings. We had one here in Utah at a mall not to long ago. Our thoughts and purrayers are with all the families of hte fallen and with all the survivors and their families.
We agree, Yuki & Kimiko ... cats need to take over the world. All of us blogging kitties are so lucky that we found wonderful, kind beans, because there are some really disturbed ones out there.

It has been all over the news here as well. My humans are very distressed by this and saddened that something this awful could happen in today's society. I do think your expression is priceless and captures your thoughts entirely.
yes, we agree. it is hard to believe anyone could be so selfish as to commit such a terrible act as murder, and this was mass murder. some beans are lunatic sickos. we're so sad for the families, it must be...well there are no words for what they are going through.

We lives in Northern Va and it is very sad because our kollig girls know a lot of those kollig kidds that go there and now some of their friends friends of friends are ded. soooo sad :-(
