Fiction Friday (and contest!)
You has to read da whole review to git to da part about da contest - duhr!

Our Review of da Book:

Furst of all, we want to say how honored we are to have been asked by Ms. Becker, da author, and Jackie Myers of Workman Publishing, to write a review fer this book. Second of all, we fink it’s cool that da author’s furst name is Suzy, like our Mommakitty Susie (‘cept momma spells it correctly). And third of all, we knows all you kitties will enjoy da fact that Ms. Becker wuz inspired to write this book because of her cat Binky (who we all know wuz da REAL author).

Da furst time Binky Ms. Becker wrote da book All I Need To Know I Learned From My Cat, it quickly CATapulted to da New York Times Best Seller list! WOWY WOW! This is a furry good accomplishment in da literary werld – AND a great step fer cats everywhere, ensuring more popularity fer da feline empire.

Basically, this book is a furry helpful training manual fer beans. In this book there are many life lessons from cats that beans can learn from, such as, "Remember to wash behind your ears, in between your toes, and under your arms." Can you imagine if da beans didn’t do this? We have 2 werds fer you – P U. Us cats warsh these spots several times a day – duhr! (Note: we will make sure we inform da author about da importance of warshing spot #13).

Another good lesson, "Never pluck your eyebrows." Again - DUHR! And one of our favorite life lessons, "There is always time for a nap." Now, most of you know Mommakitty has always said “napping is a legitimate hobby” – we fink she picked this up da first time she read this book a squillion years ago (before we wuz borned). So you see, beans are trainable can learn.

As we all know, some beans can be slow to learning new tricks things, so we fink this is why da "And Then Some" section wuz added. There are 48 new pages of “pure wisdom” fer beans to contemplate such as, "Have a good indoor exercise program." Another superb piece of wisdom! Fer any beans reading this, we highly recommend Thundering Herd of Elephants (2:00am-4:00am is prime time) – a great calorie burner.

Yet another good piece of new wisdom, "Resist being put in boxes." Now, you KNOW Binky had some input on THAT one. Gittin’ in boxes is one thing, being PUT in them in another! By da way, did you notice that da werd PUT has da same letters at PTU?! Coincidence – we fink NOT!

Now, another great thing about da new edition of this book is da premiere of da essential “Are You a Cat Person?” quiz. This quiz is a MUST if yer bean is contemplating engaging in a relationship wif another bean who has not had cats in their lives! Don't ya want to know who yer living wif?

Well, we could go on and on, but then we may give you too much info and then you might not buy da book, which is da reason reviews are written – to git you to buy da book! It’s furry reasonably priced at $8.95 US / $10.95 Canada. It didn’t cost us anything cuz we promised to do da review in exchange fer a free copy – a win-win.

And speaking of a FREE copy of da book . . . we are gonna have a contest fer you to git yer furry own free copy! Well, actually it’s a drawing. But here’s how it werks:

RULES FER DA FREE BOOK DRAWING
1) Leave a comment fer this post from Friday 11/30/07 8:00am to Saturday 12/1/07 12:00 midnight (PST). Winner will be announced on Sunday 12/2/07, sometime after we git up.
2) In yer comment, be sure to leave yer name and a link to yer blog (this means you gots to have a blog) so we can contact you.
3) You can live anywhere in da werld (planet Earth) were you can receive mail. This means you must be willing to give us yer snail mail address fer shipping.
4) We will write all da names on pieces of paper, then ball them up, and put all da names in a bowl. Then one of us will pick a ball out of da bowl. Easy peasy.
5) Open to any spiecies.
6) If you don’t win – don’t’ whine! Go buy yer beans a copy . . . it’s worth it!

P.S. Binky da cat wuz a Tuxie, of da cow persuasion. He crossed da Rainbow Bridge in 2005, but you can visit his Catster page at:

That sounds like a great book! Wonderful review job. :) I wonder why it is more expensive in Canada, though, since the Canadian dollar is worth the same as the US dollar right now.

Hehehe, SS says I can only tell you a 'dork' is an unflattering label for those odd intellectuals with silly interests. But look in Wikipedia for the other popular assertion - something to do with whales. SS says I may be censured for putting THAT in a family orientated blog.
