Power Outage

Sorry we haven't been around, but we have been without power since Friday 6:20am! There's big storms all over California . . . da power company says we may still be without power for a few more days!

Luckily Mommakitty had da gas fireplace on when da power went out, so we have heat in da living room where we are all living right now. We can't turn da fireplace off, cuz it has an electric ignition and we won't git it back on.

Our phones are also out, so da beans has gone out to a restaurant to plug in their computers and cell phones. When Daddykitty called da power company to see when we'd have service again, they told him we could see progress on the TV news. Um, . . . Mr. Power Company Dude . . . we DON'T HAVE ANY POWER TO TURN ON DA TV - DUHR!!!

Mr. Power Company Dude said our neighborhood was not a priority, even though we gots a new blurpy thing in da house. Whut a bunch of DINGLEBERRIES!

Anyhoo, . . . please say some purrayers fer us to git our power back soon so da blurpy baby can have some warm formula and butt wipes. We may not be able to check our blog or emails for another couple of days, . . . so, chow fer now.

Are there any hotels you can all check into for a night or two to stay warm? Do you need anything?

Oh, man. You guys are all gonna have to make a great big kittie & bean pile under all the blankets you can find. We're with Monty -- find a relative, or hotel, or warming shelter somewhere.

Does that dingleberry power company know you have a brand new blurpy thing?

Oh dear! Our Lady's sister (your neighbor in Bodega who's also without power) just had a baby boy on December 5th, so she's got the same troubles. When she's gotta charge the cell phone, she's gotta plug it in the car and drive around for a while. We sure hope the power company idiots get it back on soon. Purrs & love from us!

Max said...

Oh man...we were lucky, we got to keep our power. Lots of people near us lost theirs and some had trees crash into their roofs and stuff. A mobile home lost its WHOLE roof.

The worst is supposed to be over, so I hope you get power soon. I would be very cranky without it, I think.

We don't get that whole 'not a priority' thing when you've got a new baby there. Some people have got no idea...We're purring that you all stay warm and safe, especially your new little sister,

So, what exactly would make it a priority for them? Does Bendrix need to pay them a visit? He is overdue to get his claws clipped.

Maybe the wipies can be sat on (no really, in ziploc bags) to warm them up. Poor blurpy thing.

We'll send good thoughts your way. Stoopid dingleberry powercompany. I'm sending dirty litterbox thoughts their way.

Puuuurrrrs to you all!

PS are there any "cat friendly" hotels that would take you for a couple of days since this is an emergency situation for you all (with a new blurpy girl and all too!)

Christine and FAZ said...

That power company sure is not the smartest. I didn't think about not having phones either - of course you have to charge them so they work. FAZ

Hello, a new baby!!! What does the power company think is important? If things get too cold, call the hospital or someplace like that, should have power.

Mum's brother in Oklahoma was without power after the ice storm last month for 6 days.

Call furiends, co-workers, anyone who might have power. With the little one we are worried.

Ye dogs and little fishes, that power company dude sounds like he's several sandwiches short of a picnic. I do hope you get your power back on soon, I'm worried about you all and the little blurpy girl. Cold formula must be horrible for her. I have one of those gas fireplaces and while they are better than nothing, if yours is anything like mine it doesn't give out a lot of heat. Pftooey on the power company.

When you're back to normal, please can I go on your blogroll, even thought I'm not exactly quite a cat? I am Black Cat of http://black-cats-follies.blogspot.com/

My thoughts and prayers are with you:) xxx

Artsy Catsy said...

Oh no, we just heard! We hope you're all staying warm and healthy. Is there anything we can do? Maybe we should send an email blitz to your power company to put you on the priority list. Thomas Edison would be ashamed of them! We wish we could send you some of our heat - it's going to be in the upper 60's tomorrow here in Indiana. The weather is getting scary.
