Kimo: OK . . . so this Facebook thing that Mommakitty is addicted to . . . she's takin' it too far! She's actually trying to use our connections to make friends fer herself!
Sabi: She's started a group just fer beans of cat bloggers! Pfffft!
Kimo: Well, whut I've learned is that ya gotta give yer beans a little break every once in a while. Do you know that beans got this labor law thing that says fer every 8 hours of werk, they is supposed to git a 30 min lunch break and TWO 15 min breaks?!
Sabi: Well, we don't wanna break any labor laws or have Mommakitty git a bunch of other beans to strike. We wanna make our blogging staff happy - right?
Kimo: So there's a special club now on Facebook called:Cat Blogger Beans Social Club
A group for parents, staff, and slaves of cats who blog. A place for beans to brush off the fur from their sleeves and feel human again (at least for a few minutes). Socialization and networking encouraged (and having fun too). Other critter parents welcome (ie: hamster, woofies, buns, etc).
Sabi: Mommakitty is da current administrator and she wrote some rulz. If yer beans wanna join, they has to contact her via da site to request admission. You has to have a pet blog, website or related site (ie: Catster) and provide URL for authorization to your site(s). You has to have a Facebook account wif your true name and photo on it too.
Kimo: Anyhoo, some of yer beans might be interested in joining this silly "club" - I say throw 'em a bone and let 'em have a little fun. Mommakitty says she needs da human contact. Da only cat bloggin' beans she has met in person wuz Da Food Lady & Mr. Tasty Face and she said she "felt more connected to Skeezix" because she met them.
Sabi: Yep - gotta keep da staff happy - keep morale up. We're not quite sure whut they talk about - and we don't care. So long as Mommakitty gits her "fix" and then git back to werk on our blog. So, just somethin' to think about . . . kinda like an employee benefit.
Kimo: Whutever - let da beans bond.

Luckily my Momma hates facebook, coz I can barely get time for her to help me now, and I know that is something she loves doing.. helping me blog and visit.. really!
We hopes this takes off for your Momma, my Momma understand where she is coming from coz she sits at home 90% of the time just with me and Mushka as company.. she forgets how to interact with real people sometimes ;)

I think its a great thing for the humans. I mean, over here in NJ we feel rather disconnected from our friends and the LL always wants to connect with people with similar interests.

Oh no, Mommy is not yet aware of Facebook. I worry that she will never get to her other duties, she's even considering starting her own non-cat blog. I'm a bit concerned.

That's a good idea, Kimo and Sabi's mum. My mum says she already spends hours on the internet and if she joined Facebook she would spend so long on the internet in the evenings that dad would divorce her for abandonment. I would also sue her for desertion!

We's doin fings backwards. We finded the group on Facebook first, THEN saw yur nouncement on the CB. Whatefur, I guess Moms need a brake sumtimes. Ok, 5 minutes. I's settin the timer.
The Woman just requested to join...but then she realized the picture she has up doesn't show her face, just her on a rumbly bike. Anyways, I think her request was sent under "kathompson." She wants friends, dangit!
My maid was ready to open a facebook account on the spot to join the group - but I put my paw down! With her gazillion other blogs, her youtube stuff, the art sites, the myspace pages (hers AND mine) that she doesn't take care of, she does not even have the time anymore to help us with our meager little blog!!! I hope I can keep her from adding this to the load - but with her - you never know, I think she secretly bookmarked this post....
And she mumbled something like "can relate... having met Asta's mom.... feel more connected...."
